Abstract

According to Zhao Kaiwei, in the past, most of the “small vegetables” sold by merchants were wholesaled from Beijing’s Xinfadi Market, which resulted in high costs. After HIGREEN was built, vegetable wholesalers’ businesses have grown steadily. Merchants who previously only sold vegetables from northern regions now also cooperate directly with cultivation bases in Yunnan, Hainan, Fujian, Zhejiang, and other regions. Currently, more than 95% of the vegetables at this market are shipped directly from their places of origin. Direct shipments from production areas have brought price advantages. Now, HIGREEN’s reach extends beyond the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region—even secondary vegetable wholesalers from Shandong and Liaoning come here to source their goods. “At present, secondary and tertiary agricultural markets account for about 60% of our entire downstream customer base,” said Zhao Kaiwei. “Our merchants have also established partnerships with dozens of chain supermarkets, restaurants, and e-commerce platforms.”
