Abstract
On March 13, Du Weiyao, Deputy Commissioner for the Greater China Region of the Victorian Government of Australia, Yang Mei, Senior Business Manager of the Beijing Office of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, and Shao Simeng, Chief Representative of the Tianjin Office in Melbourne, accompanied by responsible officials from relevant divisions of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, visited the Tianjin HIGREEN Market under the Shenzhen Agriculture Group for an inspection and research visit. They engaged in an in-depth exchange on topics including Sino-Australian agricultural product import and export trade, cross-border e-commerce, and trade show activities.
Du Weiyao and her delegation visited the digital exhibition hall of Tianjin HIGREEN and highly praised HIGREEN Tianjin's extensive practices in agricultural product distribution, cold-chain logistics, and digital supply-chain management. At the subsequent symposium, she provided a detailed introduction to Victoria’s export commodities to China, including beef and lamb, cherries, grapes, and red wine. She also extended a warm invitation to Tianjin HIGREEN and businesses within the park to join Australia and Asia in this year’s trade fairs held by Victoria in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and other locations, expressing her hope that enterprises from both countries will engage in deeper discussions, exchanges, and trade collaborations. Shao Simeng noted that in recent years, as Tianjin and Melbourne, the capital of Victoria, have developed together as sister cities, in addition to traditional trade, innovative development and agricultural technology projects have also attracted considerable attention. She expressed her hope that in the future, there will be even more opportunities for cooperation in agriculture and emerging fields.
Liu Zongyu, Chairman of Tianjin HIGREEN, warmly welcomed the Australian delegation and sincerely thanked the Municipal Bureau of Commerce for facilitating bilateral connections and supporting enterprise development. He briefly introduced HIGREEN Tianjin’s recent business activities, which focus on import and export trade primarily featuring beef and imported fruits, as well as centralized contactless rail-based meat trading and experiential seafood consumption. He also highlighted HIGREEN Tianjin’s and Shennong Group’s extensive exhibition experience and the brand resources of the “Fushi Market.” Liu Zongyu expressed his hope that this exchange would help establish a robust bilateral trade platform, bring in more high-quality Australian products, and enable the export of premium Chinese agricultural products to Australia. He further proposed organizing product exhibitions and promotional events to deepen economic and trade exchanges and forge even deeper cooperative relationships with Australian partners. Among the businesses within the park, Zhonghe Auya Company shared its previous cooperation experiences with Australia and provided an update on its operations in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, including the processing of beef and mutton into pre-made products such as deeply processed beef, seasoned beef, shabu-shabu beef, and Western-style beef dishes.
Relevant officials from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce stated that the Australian side can leverage HIGREEN and Tianjin's influential and professional exhibition resources to engage in various forms of exchange and showcase activities. Tianjin, in turn, will enhance its overall influence through large-scale economic and trade exhibitions. Currently, the state is providing strong support for foreign economic and trade policies. We hope that both sides will seize this opportunity, build on the open and candid exchanges we’ve had, strengthen coordination, and elevate economic and trade cooperation to a higher and deeper level. We also hope that Tianjin HIGREEN, as an enterprise dedicated to safeguarding people’s livelihoods, will expand its industrial chain, extend its trading reach, and continuously improve and grow its import and export trade. Furthermore, we encourage it to promote the development of experiential seafood consumption, imported fruits, high-end food ingredients, and other related business models—especially by strengthening trade cooperation with Australia in more diverse fields.
Nie Dongfang, General Manager of Tianjin HIGREEN, and Guo Jun, Deputy General Manager, along with Qi Haiquan, Chairman of Zhonghe Auya Company, and Ding Qiaote, General Manager, who are both merchants in the park, participated in the reception.
